The story on the cards is what sold me — following Xavier’s journey from Bordeaux to Paris while actually playing with the deck makes every hand feel like part of a little adventure. The gambling frog’s illustration is my favorite, and the 56 cards give you plenty of variety for games.

The watercolor pips are absolutely gorgeous in person—each suit feels like a tiny painting, not just printed shapes. I’ve already used the deck for two game nights and everyone kept pausing to look at the Notorious Gambling Frog card.

The little story on the cards actually pulls you in—I found myself following Xavier’s journey between hands instead of just shuffling. The watercolor pips are delicate and the frog villain is a fun touch. Deck feels sturdy enough for regular play, too.
